Lifeline Zero ZERO Extinguisher - size & weight comparisons

Seeing is believing!

The Lifeline Zero 2000 range of fire extinguisher systems remain the most popular type of kits. But it is worth remembering, the technology found in the Zero 360 and Zero ZERO ranges can benefit all competitors. Here we focus on the Zero ZERO fire extinguisher systems.

Initially aimed at both single seater and Prototype sports cars, the Zero ZERO range of fire extinguishers uses 3M Novec 1230 extinguishant meaning they are very small, yet still very efficient at fire suppression whilst also easily passing tests conducted by the British Standards Institute in conjunction with the MSA. And also being fully FIA Approved for competition use.

Available in three models, mechanical type operation, electrical type operation and remote electrical type operation. This last model is the smallest in the range with the bottle measuring 205mm long and 90mm in diameter. This system uses a remotely mounted casing to activate the fire extinguisher thus meaning the bottle size is very small and lightweight at just 2.1kgs.

When we compare this bottle to the FIA Approved 4 Litre Zero 2000 bottle, the size differences become even more apparent.

The Zero 2000 bottle measures 155mm in diameter by 310mm long, a big saving.

The Mechanically operated and standard electrically operated Zero ZERO systems use slightly larger sized bottles which measure 100mm in diameter by 200mm long. Meaning they still offer massive weight and size savings when compared to the Zero 2000 systems.

As standard, the Zero ZERO extinguisher kits come complete with mounting brackets and clamps, 8mm tubing, 4 nozzles, pipe clips and operating cables/power pack where applicable. The Zero ZERO bottles are supplied with a polished finished.
