Can the push rod on the Girling or Tilton Master Cylinders be swapped out for the one on my car, which does not have the 5/16 UNF end?
Yes, the push rod on the Girling or Tilton Master Cylinders can be swapped out.
The spring circlip with the two tags holds the components together and the push rod has a 13.8mm diameter seat on the end that sits against the piston.
The circlip is under the rubber boot. Make sure that you keep the piston and seals in the master cylinder. They can spring out if care is not taken. This avoids the problem of having to reassemble the master cylinder.
