I have a 1943 Daimler Scout Car with a mechanical fuel pump (AC Type 'T'). The engine is a 2500cc straight 6 which gives about 8 mpg. The fuel pump has recently been playing-up and I am thinking of replacing it with an electrical pump. Can you recommend a Facet pump? The pump would have to be located in the engine compartment and the pipe run from the tank would be about 2 meters.
The most suitable is going to be the Facet Redtop. This pump is capable of pulling the length of the car, but if you should mount it low so gravity feed the pump from the tank. If the pressure (6-7psi) is too high you may also need a Fuel Pressure regulator:
