I would like to relocate the oil filter as it just fouls the steering column ( it's a kit car). The engine is from a 1980 Jaguar XJ6 series 3. I am thinking of fitting a Mocal sandwich plate and Mocal cover plate piped to a filter head. Can you recommend the correct parts for this?
Mocal do not manufacture a sandwich plate/cover plate for your engine. Mocal Think Automotive manufacture Take Off Plate (M-TOP-1H), this would be 1" UNF thread to fit your engine and will have 1/2" NPT threads for the in/out lets.
It will be a similar configuration to the Think M-TOP-1.
Obviously the adaptors and unions will stick out still but will free up room when compared the the filter you have.
You would need to plan the hose runs, size and unions.
